I’m a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2003,I graduated from Tchaikovsky Music School, where I studied violin pedagogy and performance. In 2008, I graduated from the Komitas State Conservatory of Armenia with honors (with Masters degree in Violin Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I’ve had opportunity to play at many well known concert venues of The USA,include Carnegie Hall, David H.Coch Theater, The Kennedy Center Opera House,Microsoft Theater ,as well touring the world with hundreds of concerts as the concertmaster,associate concertmaster of ShenYun Performing Arts And much bigger ShenYun Symphony .from 2011 to 2013 I worked as member of Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra,and participated in all international festivals and concerts of the orchestra, during that time period I had opportunity to work under the batton of many Great conductors including Christopher Warengreen, Eduardo Topchjian, Karen Durgarian, And had opportunity to work with soloists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Daishin Kashimoto, Maxim Vengerov,Isabelle Faust, Michell Legrand And others in 2012 I participated at I,Culture Festival and toured around Europe ,and that gave me chance to collaborate with such great musicians and teachers as Marshal Marcus, Claire Thompson, in 2005- I was one of the founder members of State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and toured with the orchestra around Europe,in 2007 the orchestra became a member of European Union of Youth orchestras as well the official orchestra of world known Aram Khachaturian competition. My music pedagogy is influenced by Zoltan Kodaly, mile Jaques-Dalcroze, Edwin Gordon, and Carl Orff. For teaching violin, while I employ elements of the Suzuki Method, Strictly Strings, and Metodo Nicolo Violin to instill discipline and establish ,precision, I set up a lively, interdisciplinary, and creative environment by incorporating calisthenics, games, dancing, singing, and storytelling to encourage versatility and innovation. I am a classically-trained violinist and composer, with a passion for teaching music to children and adults of all ages and levels. I received my Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Indiana University, and subsequently received a scholarship to continue my studies in Paris. Over the years, I have contributed to several non-profit and El Sistema-inspired music programs, in both North and South America. My first teaching job was in Colombia, where I taught violin and directed youth orchestras, and I have gone on to teaching a wide range of music classes in Chile, Brazil, New York City, Paris, and in Austin, Texas. With my students, I always try to find what they want to achieve and tailor my lessons towards that. I always love seeing my students improve and teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs. I set weekly goals for my students, and keep track of their progress in personal journals. Each student is different, and progress will vary from student to student. For beginners who are children, I start with the essential Suzuki method which includes a focus on musical listening imitation, parental involvement (at very young ages) and creating an effortless technique. The Suzuki books are great in that they provide a great foundation and an extremely logical progression for taking students from complete beginners to an advanced level. For advanced students, we can branch out into a wide variety of classical concertos or other repertoire (this happens around Suzuki book 6) I love to teach adults, and I try to structure my teaching in accordance with adult students' goals and interests. I have been teaching for 5 years to a wide range of ages. I take an individualistic approach to teaching, tailoring my lessons to my students. I teach violin for all levels and beginner/intermediate piano. I encourage all my students to learn how to read music and have a basic understanding of theory.
