My desire is for all of my students to know and learn proper technique. For beginner students, I will start with theory basics that are foundational to learning and can be directly applied to their instrument. Once they gain a basic understanding of the fundamentals, I will introduce more complete solo repertoire that they can begin to work on. Depending on the interests, learning desires, and level of the student, I will move forward with what interests them, though I may require some classical selections as I believe it to be a style foundational to a great musician. I am a Taiwanese American violinist and I grew up in Boston. I started playing piano when I was 5 and then the violin at age 8. I enjoys teaching students of all ages and encourages early beginners! As an avid life long learner, I attend as many Suzuki teacher trainer courses as possible, and I love the Starling Delay Symposium as a resource for my own playing and for teaching students.
