Hello! I am a cellist and music educator who loves helping students succeed in music. I graduated from Duquesne University in spring of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education with a concentration in cello. I also love spending my free time playing the violin, viola, piano, and guitar. I decided to major in music because I could not imagine doing anything else with my life. I prefer to teach using the Suzuki books, since I believe it is a well rounded learning of fun music while teaching technique and musical abilities. I expect my students to practice at least 6 times a week. My students are encouraged to practice by ear, to encourage the love for music. If the student is more advanced, they will begin working on Carl Flesch Scales and Wolfhart etudes. I will also hand out music based on the student passion be it movie theme songs, Christian, or Celtic. Read More

My favorite quote is: "All students have gifts, they just open their presents have different times."  I work with students where they are and at their pace.  I start beginners with Essential Elements 2000 for Strings.  As students progress I use Samuel Applebaum method books, traditional etudes like Wolfhardt and Sevick, Suzuki books and solo pieces as appropriate.  I teach Traditional Classical string instruction.  I will work to find pieces that students find interesting and keep my instruction engaging and fun for all of my students of all ages. Everyone comes at music from a different angle, therefore I approach teaching each student from a different angle. One of the most important things to me is to teach the student how to use their head before they try to produce a sound. Learning an instrument can be very fun and extremely satisfying, but it takes more work than most people expect. I graduated with my degree in music education from Westminster College in 2010. I taught grades K-8, choir and instrumental students in Pittsburgh Public Schools until 2021.
