I attended Highland High School, was concert master my freshman year in the Sinfonia (second highest orchestra at the school) and was in the Symphonic Strings/Orchestra (the top orchestra) for my remaining three years, and was concert master by my senior year. I performed in solo competitions regularly, as well as forming my own quartets, duos, and trios of various styles (from bluegrass, to contemporary, to classical). I graduated from Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Music Education and a Masters of Music from Jackson State University.
