I have been teaching in both private studio and public schools since 2012 from K-12, high schools and college levels. I like sharing my passion for music to students that are willing to learn and enjoy the same love for music. I am currently teaching at San Francisco State University as a Assistant Professor in the Music department for both Undergrad and Graduate levels in Viola (soloists) and Chamber Music as well as private students at my own studio. I began teaching private violin and viola lessons in 2012, and I greatly enjoy working with my students. They range in age from 3 1/2 to adult, and each one has been unique. After beginning lessons with my first student, teaching a semester of music theory, and teaching a summer camp, I became interested in Suzuki methodology and pedagogy. I find that for younger students especially, this method allows for more parent involvement at an age when many parents want to be more involved, and many children equally appreciate this involvement. I would first begin with scales and just focus on getting the correct hand placements. After maybe one or two lessons with focusing on scales, we will then begin with Suzuki books. These books are great for getting the kids more familiar with music and also put their scale practicing to the test. Of course, the scales will still be continued however as the student progresses, we will focus less on scales and put our attention more on various classical music pieces. Read More

I like to start by teaching all of the students music theory before we play any instruments. In the real world, you cannot read a book properly if you do not know the "ABC's". I strongly believe the same goes with music. Once we learn the fundamentals of music theory, learning songs, and other instruments will become a lot easier. Once we have the music theory settled down, we will play books. Read More

Music has always been a part of my life. I became involved in music, theater and dance at a young age, performing in countless professional productions. In my teens and early adulthood, I began writing and recording music and became involved in a number of recording projects that led me to teaching. I gave my first lesson over a decade ago and I continue to perform when I can. I graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy with concentrations in Theater and Music, and I worked for Women's Audio Mission in San Francisco. Read More

Hello, I am Daniel. I am a recent college grad and I am new to the area. I am teaching lessons mainly out of my apartment. However I can teach in your home if you are near me. I am only teaching beginners right now. I currently have a day job that doesn't have a set schedule. I am hoping to find students that are willing to have different times every week. Read More
