In order to enjoy playing our instruments for many years to come, I emphasize the importance of healthy technique in order to prevent injury. Through the process of learning scales and pieces, I make sure to incorporate a focus on correct posture, a relaxed left hand, and healthy bow arm so that playing the violin is a positive experience for each student. I use a wide range of materials depending on a student's interests and background - I often teach music reading to students who are reading for the first time, and for students who are already able to read music I modify our lesson materials to reflect this. I feel each of my students are unique. I love watching my students' level of musical understanding progress. I love seeing the dedication and determination begin to heighten as the lessons progress. Within each lesson I point out areas that need to be worked on as well as areas of improvement. Seeing one's progress is the most important element to me for my students. I served as Principle Second for the Salish Sea Orchestra in 2024, and served as Concertmaster for the Rainbow City Orchestra from 2011 to 2015, beginning when I was nineteen years old. Other orchestras include the Encanto Orchestra (where I served as Concertmaster on occasion) and the Seattle Rock Orchestra.
