Teaching for 12 years and playing for 18 years has really inspired me to cater to every age, and the student’s personal goals and their particular culture as there are no limitations to my style. I have experience creating music programs for church ministries, learning centers, music academies and more. My programs offer growth within child development skills as an individual as well as a group setting, helping the student to be more confident at a young age and continue to grow as well for adults, give challenges to the student, fun games for memorization of music and to enjoy the lessons, and most importantly how to share their gift with family and friends while going through performing etiquette training. For beginner strings I use several method books (elementary and 6th students can come with prescribed method books from their public school teacher) such as Essential Elements, Orchestra Expressions, String Essentials. If parents would like to use solo books, I use Suzuki Method Books (not necessarily the method of only learning by ear) in conjunction with note reading workbooks. As they age I use other method books (violin, viola, cello. double bass) such as Wohlfahrt, Mazas, Kreutzer, Flesch, Schradieck, Dont, Bach Sonatas and Partitas, Rick Mooney's shifting and thump position book series, Klengel, Bach Cello Suites, Popper, PIatti, Smandl Method, Fischer, and of course as they advance any standard sonatas and concerti, such as Mozart 5 in AM, Mendelssohn in em, Hadyn Concerto in CM, anything from the Baroque, classical, and romantic era. I started teaching while in High School some 12 years ago. Gradually my studio has built up and is generally in the 20-30 student range, generally where I like it. I've taught privately in people's homes, in my own studio, for local music studios, and online. In these many years I've found teaching to be as much if not more enjoyable than performing. Instead of showing others my love of music I get to instill it in my students. Read More

My teaching as well as tutoring experience dates back to when I first commenced playing the violin. I was encouraged to tutor other classmates and friends who were having difficulty on the violin, as well as viola. My greatest accomplishment from tutoring was named, "Most Valuable Player" by my orchestra teacher my graduating year in 2019. I always had a passion in helping others and using my passion of music to help others is most desired. Read More

Music is like learning a new language. Its a completely different concept. For beginning children repetion is the key. Children love repetion so Suzuki is perfect. Dr. Suzuki's idea is the mother and child learn the instrument at the same time so that the child can hear the tunes and can play it on the violin. Its the same idea that the suzuki method comes with a CD that the child can listen to. Read More

Following a long, fun and successful 20+ year career as a pro musician, I became a full-time music teacher. I was the founding music teacher at St. Benedict's Episcopal school in Smyrna, GA where I taught music K-8 for seven years. Then I joined The SAE School in Mableton, GA, where for the past three years I have taught K-12 music, creating a new middle school orchestra and high school Project Based Learning curriculum for music. I thrive on my students' success. I am a patient and passionate instructor. However quickly you want to advance is up to you. Lessons are for guidance, but practice is where you will achieve proficiency. I will set clear goals for you based on what you show me you are capable of. As you may have read, I am an advocate of challenges, and it is my goal to keep my students actively engaged with their progressing technique and repertoire. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
