I have performed as a section violinist with Round Rock Symphony, Victoria Symphony, Temple Symphony, Laredo Philharmonic, Austin Civic Orchestra, and Gilbert and Sullivan Austin. I try to introduce my students to different styles and genres of music. Their repertoire ranges from dances and songs to variations, concertos and sonatas. In order to be able to play such an array of genres, one requires what I like to call a "laboratory of skills". Each lesson varies according to the needs and level of the student. A typical lesson would start out with some kind of technique exercise, scales, and arpeggios. Then we would move on to some kind of musical piece. The song will be learned in its correct form with all proper notes, rhythms, dynamics and tempo markings.
