I like to show students first, visually and audibly, how a piece or an excerpt goes that way they can begin to learn it already knowing a basis. I try to let students play through their pieces as much as they can so they can become adjusted playing through an entire piece and not just small segments. Some notable experiences I have had have been; playing in a classical quartet at the White House, playing fiddle in the bluegrass band at Cedar Point Amusement Park, playing electric violin with a country/rock band in Ohio and Kentucky, as well as participating in many orchestra tours throughout Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Sweden, and England. I performed as a soloist with the St. Olaf Orchestra on their 2019 fall tour, and was the first place winner of the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition in 2017. In 2019, I performed the complete Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Itasca Symphony Orchestra. I have spent many summers out of state studying at music festivals, including Interlochen Arts Camp and Meadowmount School of Music.
