I look to guide my students on two things; how to practice, and how to perform and be expressive. Whether you are preparing for a solo recital, school or community concert, or personal enjoyment we will still be focusing on developing a tension-free technique as well as taste and style. I generally follow the Suzuki series, however, I will also be assigning additional etudes, scale studies, and repertoire according to the playing level of my student. Read More

I mainly teach the Suzuki method, especially for beginner/intermediate players. After Book 5, I tend to use conservatory repertoire such as technique books ( Sevcik, Hrimaly), Scale Books, Etudes, and concertos. When it comes to keeping my students interested, I try to find songs that my students are interested in learning. I find those songs according to their level and the technique I want to teach them and then move on from there. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than when my students leave the lesson more motivated than when they came. I understand that it is a challenge for students to go home and practice, so I address this by setting goals for the student. I want the student to leave the lesson feeling proud of what they accomplished and motivated to continue learning. I want them to be able to apply the techniques they learn in music to other areas of study so that they can explore and be curious about everything. Read More

My experience in teaching violin started in 2001 as an violin instructor at Music House Inc. Over the years I had been teaching groups as well as private sessions with students from public schools from all over the Chicago area. Learning music is a part of developing mental abilities and perception skills that help the student in areas of interests other then strictly musical: from appreciation of the world around them to skills about thinking of the self in relation to their surroundings.
