She has recently found that teaching young children gives her great joy, especially dealing when with the complexities of personalities as they arise and the challenge of motivating and molding young minds. My teaching experience dates back about four years, when I started teaching private lessons after finishing my studies at the University of North Texas. I maintained a large studio while also freelancing in the Dallas area. After moving back to New England to attend Boston University, I began working with the Boston Youth Symphony as a teaching assistant. I began teaching when I was a freshman in High School and I continued with a full-time load of students throughout all four years because of how much I loved it! Eventually adding some beginner adult students into my rotation of kids as well! I taught a few college level students throughout my college years whenever I could and took on summer students during my breaks! Now that I am done with college I am very excited to begin teaching students of all ages again and sharing my love and appreciation of music with them. Read More

For my beginning students, I typically start with scales, then some technical exercises that usually come from Simon Fischer Basics book, and a short piece that employ one of the scales with the techniques. Once the student understands the fundamentals, I introduce solo repertoire that is considered essential to know for their instrument as well as sight-reading techniques. Once the student becomes more advanced, I show them works that I believe will peak their interest along with pieces that are overlooked such as pieces by women or minority composers. Read More

My story in the music begins with the study of Venezuelan folk music. Later, as a violist, I was a founding member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra "Raimundo Pereira" (One of the Orchestras of "The Sistema") in Venezuela. I studied lyrical and popular song with Masters William Alvarado and Inés Feo La Cruz. I have two records production, the first, named Por el Medio Oriente, it is a musical project that fuses the sounds and rhythms prevalent in Middle Eastern music and culture and the second named Preludio y Coda, a romantic CD.
