I have been teaching private lessons for several years, as well as being on the faculty of a non-profit music school for 5 years after graduating from University. I've found that no matter what the setting, making a good connection with the student is crucial in building a strong teacher-student relationship. My lessons are a balance of building proper technique and enjoying fun music from my always-growing library. Hello, I love both music, the violin, and working with children of all ages! I recently graduated with a Master's degree in violin pedagogy and moved to Pasadena, CA. While they are learning from that certain method I do encourage students to tell me what songs they enjoy listening to and we will choose easy versions of the song that keeps them motivated and excited.
