I do tailor my music lessons for the individual student. There really is no making a general statement for a specific person. There are, however, some very fundamental aspects of learning music for all people which will definitely include practicing and mastering scales of all type, performing with others, and using the ears to truly listen to intervals and the emotions that are invoked by performing certain keys in specific styles. For beginning students who are children, I start with Essential Method Book for Strings. Once the students has progressed more, I use Suzuki Method books, and also, choose (introduce) solo pieces for recital performance. For adults, I find out what the student is interested in and find the book that fits their interest (and guide my instruction accordingly to engage them). Easy pop melodies book or other genres violin sheets will be also fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I love transfering my love of music to students. I help them achieve their goals at a challenging, yet doable pace. When parts of the music are too difficult, I always break them down into their simplest possible parts. I am not strict, however I am realistic, and let students know that it is critical that they practice so that they can improve. Read More

For beginning student, I usually start with Suzuki Violin School. This is a pretty good methods for student to begin their violin life. There are many etudes like Wohlfahrt's 60 Studies For the Violin, Mazas' 30 Etudes Speciales and so on, I will make their individual plan introduce the Etude which fit them the best to my student to make progress on performance skill efficiently. Once my student learn the enough performance skill, I will begin to introduce many solo repertoire. Read More

From 2014 to 2015, I was a violinist of the Modus Novus String Quartet, a new music ensemble formed with graduates of the Berklee College of Music. Other notable performances include performing as a member of Jeff Williams Freelance Orchestra and alongside Video Game Orchestra at RTX 2015 and 2016 that included songs from Rooster Teeths hit web series Red Vs. I firmly believe that students are best served when their teacher knows and cares about them. This attitude toward teaching helps me to tailor instruction to students' needs rather than following a prescriptive method. I usually begin lessons with a brief, informal conversation where we discuss the student's week and talk about things that are important to them. A strong and appropriate student-teacher relationship is the bedrock for successful goal-setting, accountability, and, of course, fun in private lessons! Read More

Beginning violin is important. I use Hal Leonard's Essential Elements to help teach the functionality and basic building blocks of playing the violin. Moving forward, the best introduction into violin music itself is the Suzuki Violin School volume set. Each book helps students through various levels during their beginner phase. These pieces not only serve as educational material but also as solo repertoire for beginners in recitals. As students learn these methods, I start to tailor lessons suitable for them, allowing them to choose what they desire to play, or something that they would be eager or excited to play. Read More
