After moving from Kansas City, Missouri, I am thrilled to be teaching privately in Bloomfield, Connecticut. I am a very positive, patient, and kind individual and have been able to sing, perform, and play throughout the United States and Europe. I am a firm believer that anyone can learn to sing and am thrilled that I help my students find their unique, beautiful voices so they can let them out with confidence. Read More

I know it helped me when I was studying voice. Along with voice I find it important that a student understands and grasps the concepts of general music theory and the history of the pieces and composers of which they will be studying in hopes that such information will create an even deeper understanding and love for music. My students will be encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as finding music that they would like to perform, so that they can feel good about their voice and stay motivated to learn. For piano students, I like to use Alfred's piano methods. I find that their methods for both kids and adults not only covers the basic fundamentals of music, but they are also able to make everything comprehensive and enjoyable. For guitar, I like to use Hal Leonard's basic guitar book for students focusing on popular music and basic guitar, and for classical guitar I like to use the Christopher Parkening Method. Read More

I feel it is important to practice regularly, as the progression will increase quicker. I also encourage my students to record their lessons, not only to hear the different exercises, but also to hear the change in their sound. New Windsor Music Academy performs yearly recitals, which I always recommend my students to perform in. I feel it is a great way to show growth in not only the voice, but in the singer. Read More

From 2013 - 2021, I lived in the Czech Republic, developing personal and collaborative projects outside of classical music such as singing and composing for Yo Soy Indigo (freak-folk-jazz), Looncall (dark electronic), as well as solo performances of original music. I have a deep appreciation for all genres and love to flow through them in my vocal performance and composition styles. I have recently graduated with my Master of Arts from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow under the tutelage of Kathleen Ferguson and Lorna Anderson. Read More

I cater the lessons towards what the student wants while emphasizing the importance of fundamentals and theory. I incorporate songwriting and improvisation into my lessons, as well as songs the student wants to learn. I believe all students should be encouraged to be creative, while still maintaining a strong emphasis on fundamentals, thus leading to the creation of their unique musical style. I generally tend to split the lessons up into warm up techniques, repertoire, sight reading, listening/dictation, discussing music the student likes/wants to learn, and improvisation and songwriting.
