Growing up I was always told “practice makes perfect”, though as I grew I realized music is art and art was never meant to be perfect. I do make sure to encourage all of my students to practice as it does help make you a better musician, but perfection is never the goal. Music is an expression and a gift that should always be treated as such. The way I learned is the way I teach. I was taught the same way multiple ways and because of this I can give students different avenues to learn the same thing.
