For beginners, I typically start with the 24 Italian Aria book. We pick a song that the student likes best and work on that. At the same time, we also work on a song that interests the student within reason. There must be a basic grasp of the fundamentals of technique. First and foremost, I believe in healthy and safe singing. I believe that there is healthy and safe singing in every genre, but one must have an understanding of bel canto singing first to be able to sing properly in every genre. Read More
