It is such a joy to see students progress in lessons, especially younger students. My former piano teacher of 10 years inspired me so much and was the most amazing and professional piano instructor in my area. She really lived by the reward system. Anytime, I would finish a goal or objective for the day, whether it be scales, or finishing a pieces, she would reward us with stickers or candy or anything to motivate us in love. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my early years in jr- college, My professors even referred students to me for guitar lessons. After graduating from Auburn University with a BS in Music education , I taught private lessons in my home. I’m diffuwhen it comes to ‘plans’ ...I want students to understand the scales and I encourage that in their practice but I also want them to learn by ear....picking out favorite tune they love and gaining confidence through that achievement....it also helps them in their everyday life ...confidence-confidence-confidence.....can’t be Stressed enough....I start out with basics and I continuously evaluate the students trying to recognize when they are ready to move on to the next level....I want to make lessons Fun! My method of coaching focuses on three main areas: diaphragmatic breathing, vocal fold alignment, and proper laryngeal positioning. These three areas have a direct impact on tone quality, placement and ease of transition from chest voice to mix voice. The first few lessons with a new student always begins with good diaphragmatic breathing exercises combined with edging techniques for fold alignment up to the first vocal bridge. Once the student feels comfortable in both of those areas, I then combine those areas with proper larynx positioning to seamlessly navigate their first vocal bridge! Read More

I believe that proficiency on any instrument begins with understanding how the different parts of the instrument work together to create an optimal sound. All of my students will have an understanding of the system in place that allows them to chase the sound they hear in their heads. Whether you're 8 or 80, you won't find success if you don't know how to operate the machinery! Moreover, I believe that a passion for the instrument fits nicely into the passion that you feel for the music you love, so I try to get an understanding of the genres and groups that my students are currently interested in. My teaching experience dates back to high school, when I was a surfing instructor in Huntington Beach, California. I love helping people achieve their goals. I starting teaching music after graduating from college in 2010, when I trained to become a professional Vocal Coach at Songbird Studios in San Francisco. I fell in love with teaching vocal technique, performance skills, and songwriting to a wide age range of students--as young as 6 and as old at 75! Read More

My teaching style is to be positive, energetic, and communicative throughout each lesson. I want every student to walk away from each lesson feeling good about their progress and feeling like they have learned a valuable tool to practice throughout the week. For me as a teacher, the ultimate reward is seeing a student feel proud of their accomplishments and gain confidence as a performer. I also want to encourage every student to take their talents beyond our lessons. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
