My teaching style is unique.....I evaluate the students and try to learn from their likes and dislikes and teach accordingly.....the Last thing a teacher wants to do is Discourage a young stundent ,inundating then with boring songs......a teacher that makes an impact will carefully listen to the students finding out what style of music they gravitate too...helping them in the best way achieve their musical goals...as a parent I try different ‘approaches’ in teaching my child different things ...I do the same with musical students Read More

I taught AP music theory while I was IN high school, graduated as the top pianist of one of the top 10 jazz bands in the USA. In college at SMU, I studied finance, but quickly got a double in music, studying classical music under Alfred Mouledous (world renowned pianist) and focusing my free time on jazz. I played and taught at a company called ABMusic in Perth, Australia which taught Indigenous Australians how to assimilate into soceity through the use of music. Read More

Music is one of my parts. It's no different than my lungs, feet, or my heart. It is just as necessary to me as food and water and was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. Music isnt just what I do...its who I am. I hope to one day inspire those who have an appreciation and love for music to have the same appreciation and love for how it [music] works. Read More

For all my students, I first ask the question: why are you taking vocal lessons? I want to know first and foremost my students' goals and what they like/don't like about their singing voice. Then I start with the basics: what is happening in your body when you sing, and why? First I like to start with singing easy 5-tone scales to discover the students' voice type, then I talk to my students about what makes their voice special. Read More

During my time at Belmont University, I taught music part time, as the other hours during the day were spent on class material, creating music of my own, as well as further developing methods by which to teach. Towards the end of college I took a break from teaching to focus on my career as an artist/songwriter. However, during 2021 I decided to start teaching again, which has reignited my passion for teaching and desire to spread music to others! Read More

I have been around music practically since I was born, as my parents were both professional musicians and our house was constantly filled with the sounds of Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. I initially decided to study piano and violin performance but changed my focus to education and teaching. As a passionate musician, I have enjoyed playing in symphony orchestras through the years, and I've found that being part of a group of people whose purpose is to produce a beautiful work of art is one of the most enjoyable experiences one can have. My method of coaching focuses on three main areas: diaphragmatic breathing, vocal fold alignment, and proper laryngeal positioning. These three areas have a direct impact on tone quality, placement and ease of transition from chest voice to mix voice. The first few lessons with a new student always begins with good diaphragmatic breathing exercises combined with edging techniques for fold alignment up to the first vocal bridge. Once the student feels comfortable in both of those areas, I then combine those areas with proper larynx positioning to seamlessly navigate their first vocal bridge! Read More
