For beginning students, I typically start with teaching basic healthy singing techniques, such as vocalizing and healthy posture while singing. This includes instruction of vocal and breathing mechanics. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce repertoire selection guidance, performance coaching, and song interpretation and stylistic traits of a variety of genres. Outside of lessons I typically do ask that you practice a minimum of 5 times per week for 15-20 minutes using practice exercises that we learn in lessons so that you will continue to improve vocal technique. In the fall of 2012, I receive my degree from UNCG in music education.  There I studied private voice for 3 years with Dr. Nancy Walker, former vice president of  National Association of Teachers of singing.
