As a kinesthetic learner, I have always had a tendency of using colors, rhymes, similarities, acronyms among other things to ease my learning ability of which I have found myself using a similar method when explaining a concept to one of my students. Setting short and long term goals allow for me and the student to be enthusiastic to learn and eager to step into our next lesson. My way of working the voice in particular is a combination of yoga breathing techniques, the Alexander singing method and the Stanilavsky method of acting. This to achieve a better awareness of the vibration and awareness of the vocal instrument. As for the guitar, I also combine typing exercises and coordination of the classical school and then move on to the area of chord and harmony construction a little more related to the jazz and contemporary music school.My students enjoy progressively knowing and discovering the possibilities of their instrument and then go looking for their pop sound and their own forms of expressiveness, leaving me as an advisor or coach in the musical forms that they wish to explore and enjoy. That being said, I believe every student will work at their own pace. We will work together on goals that are realistic during the time frame. I am a serious, nerdy musician who loves to learn something new every day and then pass that knowledge along through teaching others. After several stints at several colleges for both Music Performance and Audio Engineering I am thoroughly enjoying a performing career focusing on drumset, piano and voice. I can often be found playing music and singing at many establishments in the Houston/Austin/San Antonio area.
