My students recieve clear and achievable goals at the end of each of their lessons to work on while they are practicing during the week. I studied dance at the age of 6. My mom bought a piano for herself to learn to play. I would go to the piano and try to make up songs that I could dance to, which then lead me to take piano lessons for 15 years. I have used several method books in the past but find them all limited or focused on styles or technique that is not what the student wants or needs to learn.
