I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, acknowledging accomplishments, fueling a students desire to progress, and finding ways to stimulate a students desire to learn more. I began teaching in high school due to me being the student director of the choir and my choir director knowing my background vocally, encouraged me to help some of the incoming students and choir hopefuls. By the end of my junior year of high school, I was giving private lessons 5 times a week and directed some pieces during competitions.
