For students who are young children, I like to start working on fundamental musical and singing concepts, including posture, breath management, pitch matching, music literacy, and expression. I work with each student to find songs which are appropriate for their voice, and songs they are excited about working on. For adult students, I aim to find out what the student's goals are and use my knowledge and resources to help them achieve those goals. Read More

My main goal is to create a vocal balance in the voice. Having a vocal balance is based on a singer's ability to sing with a resting larynx, proper vocal fold adduction and ability to navigate through the bridges evenly, without breaks, or strain. Once the balance has been found, we can then apply these skills to any style of music. Some singers find vocal balance easily while it may take other singers some time depending old habits that need to be broken. Read More

I tailor my methods according to the specific needs of each student. I feel that it is my job to assess the needs and learning style of a student and adapt what I offer to them and do so by deeply listening and observing what a student can do when we first meet to what I can determine are their interests and goals and what styles or approaches most fire up their creative excitement. My teaching experiences have been positive, fun, and I've built good relationships with my students. My favorite part about teaching is seeing singers gain confidence in their singing ability and hearing their voices grow. I belive that any learning experience should be fun above all things. I learn a lot from my students, and I encourage them to take risks and opportunities to make them into better musicians. One of the most important things for me is putting my students out there and exposing them to new opportunities that will further enhance their singing and musical ability. Read More

I was born a musician and started singing at a very young age. Both of my parents were artists and musicians, and were constantly exposing me to music at church and from their favorite artists. Growing up, I would make up songs for her stuffed animals to sing and would perform them in front of anyone that would listen. This continued with friends I made later in grade school and choir.
