I am a graduate from Texas AM University Kingsville. I studied with soprano Dr. Melinda Brou during my undergraduate years. I received my BM in 2013, and I am now working on my MM at the University of Texas at Austin where I study under the direction of baritone David Small. I've had the opportunity to take guitar and voice lessons from a number of great instructors, and have learned a multitude of great methods from them. When learning the fundamentals of guitar, I find it easiest to first learn through visually learning the hand shapes and hearing the different notes and intervals. For Piano students: I teach from Faber and Faber (age appropriate volumes) and encourage a disciplined home practice routine that includes a practice log and weekly goals. Solo pieces added over time. Performances - even if only an in home recital for a few family members and friends - are encouraged about once a semester. For voice students: I teach very tailored lessons to suit individual goals, even if the goal is just to sing better in the shower. Read More

I encourage my students to listen to as much music as possible, to explore and find what they really enjoy.
