For beginning students, I focus on the essentials of theory and intervals and combine with the Voice for Life method. Each lesson is tailored to the student's needs and goals, so no lesson is exactly alike in structure. For intermediate to advanced students, I focus on aural (ear) training, sight singing and rhythm and follow it with prepared pieces in order to be "audition ready". I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. I have taught piano for nearly a decade. As I was growing up, my mother taught piano in our house and I started learning at five years old. When I was twelve, I took on my first student, who was about four years old at the time. Since then, I have taught in a variety of settings, from double teaming pairs of students with my mother to teaching cello, piano, drums, and basic music skills online to students living in Haiti, France, and across the United States! I teach different methods of breathing, including low costal breathing and we focus on posture, sound placement, among many other fun skills.
