I have loved music ever since childhood. I come from a musical performance family and have been blessed with the ability to play various instruments as well as sing. During my teen years I performed in a singing group that was the opening act for many major recording artist of the day. I also began doing session work in the studio performing on guitar, keyboards and vocals; ultimately I learned to work 'behind the scenes' alongside the engineers and learning about music production. I believe that everyone can learn to sing, that each student is unique, and that singing should be a joy. I use a combination of classical and contemporary music, gearing each piece to a student's interests and capabilities, while also encouraging them to broaden their musical horizons and try out different genres. Each student has individual strengths, weaknesses, physical and emotional needs and goals for their singing, and it is my responsibility as a teacher to meet students where they are. By facilitating a safe and low-pressure learning environment during a lesson, the student is free to explore their own abilities, experiment through trial and error, and fully flourish on their singing journey.
