I use many ideas from various sources to combine with my instruction methods; All with a gradient level in mind rising to a higher plateau of musical knowledge and understanding. I combine theory with practical applications of each concept being taught. Music theory, practical exercises, along with ear training appropriate to the level or needs of a student. I cater each lesson to the student- no two students will be on the same track and that's ok. Each person, just like each voice, is very unique! I don't see a purpose in forcing a student to learn a piece they don't like. We are here to make music so collaboration is a huge deal for me. There are so many opportunities to be creative and there are also chances to not only enhance the knowledge of a student, but also to teach them how to appropriately deal with anything that comes their way. I also believe that if you are working in an educational environment whatsoever, you must be a positive role model. I will work invariably though with all students in building a solid vocal technique based on singing with the air flow and always promoting a healthy tone quality.
