I am a musician who wants to share and instill the love and passion of music. I have experience working with members of bands such as Halestorm, the Gene Simmons band, Alice Cooper, Beasto Blanco, Sponge, and more, as well as Broadway stars such as Sutton Foster and Laura Bell Bundy. I take these experiences as well as my extensive training (BM Belmont University) and performance history (Red Light Angels, Anne Frankenstein) to help not only teach my students to sing but to give them the tools to succeed. I provide a judgment-free environment and thus give my students confidence. Through this confidence, they will expand their knowledge of mental awareness, body awareness, and vocal awareness. My extensive education will help provide my students with an accurate academic vocal experience; from the knowledge of repertoire to the way the body works. I pride myself on being able to adapt to a variety of learning styles: from visual to kinesthetic. Read More

I began studying voice prior to college with world renowned teacher, Helen Boatwright in Syracuse, NY. This training was classical. Loving jazz, I started also to sing with Dianna Spradling at Syracuse University. Soon after, I decided to go to college for musical theatre at The Boston Conservatory where I continued my studies with Walter Boyce and Robert Honeysucker, both of whom used a more classical technique. Through the years as a performer, I have worked with many coaches and teachers short term in NY and LA. Read More

During the first lesson I have the student sing (if it is a vocal lesson) their favorite song so I can hear them. After that i use my keyboard and take the student through some excersizes to really home in on that range. I listen for qualities and we discuss the positives and what improvements are needed. After the first lesson we choose music: a classical art song book and theory book of my choosing, and a songbook of the student's choosing. Read More

I sometimes fill in teaching in a theater class for vocals and guitar. My teaching experience goes back to my days trying to show my friends and family how to play a chord. I love composing my original material and I am always looking to teach new students! I have worked with children for almost ten years, but any age group is fine! I have some teaching experience, but mainly through Psychology. Read More

Having at least some goal in mind and working towards that musical goal will help a student achieve success in whatever they put forth on their instrument of choice as well as music as a whole. It will be ultimately extremely satisfying to express feelings through the notes as we take them from on the page to in the air. Sharing this joy of music will be also undeniably rewarding from student to student as well as performer to audience. Read More
