I began teaching singing lessons as a youth mentor more than a decade ago. I helped these young people develop their voices and performance skills, and supported them to perform songs in front of their school communities and families. I started teaching Balkan singing and percussion workshops with my band a decade ago. Around the same time, I was involved in a program that developed trainings and curricula for group and individual musical facilitation for individuals in hospice, inter-generational community ensembles in nursing care communities, and people with memory loss. I first started teaching guitar in high school after i got a few lessons from someone i looked up to in high school. From then on i have loved to teach music to all ages!. From my classical training I help students to learn to sight read, interpret the page correctly, play with a clean sound and play well in an ensemble. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time , and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio and music schools for the last 15 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument.
