I am a firm believer that most of the learning is done outside the lesson through the student's application of what he/she learned during the lesson. My belief is that I am a guide to the student, but the student must meet me halfway, so that we can learn from each other, work together, and find what works best for the student's voice. Read More

I teach all levels and my methods depend on the age and skill level of each student. Everybody learns differently and has different musical goals so I stay open-minded and tailor my lessons on an individual basis. for children and beginners, I focus on technique and very basic theory to get them started playing the songs they like. For beginning students, around ages 5-9, I start with easy songs, but also teach them how singing works. I like to teach technique, and help students improve in their singing. Once students have grasped the fundamentals of singing, I'll let them start looking at solo repertoire so they can practice for a recital performance.
