I have an arsenal of exercises and tools that I apply as needed for each student, and generally give each student an overview with lots of reinforcement in subsequent lessons at my concepts of technique. Generally each lesson involves vocalese - scales, triads, increasing in difficulty as appropriate and based on individual areas of need, followed by work on the repertoire. My teaching career began in high school where I was giving private guitar lessons to other students and peers. Soon after, I co-founded an NGO called "Music for Change" in which I was giving group lessons to underprivileged children and refugees in the Middle East while raising money for beginner level instruments through various fundraisers. These group lessons gave me a lot of insight into dealing with children under the age of 10 and pushed me to find new and creative ways to convey information in a simple and fun manner. Read More
