My teaching experience began in 2013, whilst attending university. Since then I have taught private lessons in students' homes and at studios on a part time basis. My emphasis with students begins with two things: creating a practice routine, and building fundamental singing techniques to create bodily awareness. From a place of bodily awareness and vocal control, students of all ages and musical interests are able to sing a wider array of music with greater success and satisfaction. Read More

My approach to all my students, children and adults alike, takes on a friendly, casual appearance while at the same time utilizing my classical and technical training. I believe music is the most joyous of all "subjects" to study and my greatest desire is for my students to learn a lot while feeling the joy that music provides. Having said that, studying with me will be fun, detailed, technical and productive. Read More

For kids I find that having a large quantity of music to learn at each level gives more variety and sense of achievement, so I usually recommend beginning students have multiple books to aid in learning. This yields a well-rounded student who is proud of their achievements and eager to move forward. For adults I recommend a lesson/theory combination book at least to help with reading music. Read More

As a post-graduate I accepted a teaching position with Cyber Village Academy in St Paull, Minnesota, teaching K-12 general music. These classes involved music composition, performance, appreciation, and individualized studies in piano, guitar and choral singing. Read More

I began teaching voice as an undergraduate student at University of Portland, and I have grown to love working with all ages and all styles. I have most recently had the opportunity to teach a college course at CalArts, private lessons to college level students at the institute, and group voice classes to K-3rd graders through the Community Arts Partnership. During this past summer I also served as Vocal Director for a music summer camp for children of all ages. Read More
