In addition to my current work as an accompanist, I've been teaching piano for 20+ years, and I love partnering with students to help them grow musically and realize their dreams. Some of my students have gone on to be professionals or teachers, and some are playing the music they love with their friends. Others are playing in their churches or in bands, and some play simply for personal enjoyment. My lesson focus depends on the student goals, but I will always include elements of theory, as it facilitates a deeper understanding of the music, allowing students the capability of creating their own music and playing in many different styles. I am a vocalist and instructor originally from Portland, Oregon. I have enjoyed performing since I was very young, and have over 15 years of vocal training. I can usually be heard singing opera and classical repertoire, but I also sing musical theater, pop, jazz, country, and contemporary styles. I am passionate about working with people of all ages, and helping them grow as musicians and develop a lifelong love of music.  After I graduated college in 2004, I went on to teach music in Wisconsin, Hawaii, and now Washington. I have taught voice lessons to a wide range of students of different ages and abilities, and have also taught beginning piano lessons. Through music I have performed across the United States in places such as the Kennedy Center.  I have also toured Europe twice as part of different choral ensembles, and sung in the most amazing cathedrals and castles. I do listening exercises, clapping, counting, reciting the letters of the notes with their voice, and demonstrate the songs they are learning to each student.
