I look to find what inspires the student naturally, while striving to open the student's mind to new styles through understanding new patterns. I set tangible goals that help the student measure their success; I make sure the goals are both realistic for their pace and also pushing them to their fullest extent. I also provide reinforcement of successes and accomplishments because I know this is valuable for a student to flourish and move forward confidently. Read More

I'm a very passionate and caring teacher who loves nothing more than to share my love for music. I've had sixteen years of formal professional training in piano starting at the age of four, as well as six years of cello which I played in the ASYO for four years. I also was the middle and high school pianist, church and choral accompanist from grades 6-12. I was pointed towards being a concert pianist had I continued in performance. Read More

My methods are based on life experience from studying with different teachers through out my career and being an AMDA graduate. I am very old school, meaning I expect them to memorize lyrics and lines, and understand what they are saying and why. I approach teaching as a teacher who still performs, and learned by doing it. I like the student to be old enough to read. I also encourage to tape their lesson for home study. Read More

I like to go over at least the basics of music theory with every student in bite-sized easy to understand pieces. This is in conjunction with our vocal lessons. Over the first few lessons we will get a base-line of skill level, range, musical interests, goals, etc. Read More

Hoping to reach a larger audience, I wrote, arranged, and produced my solo debut, What I Got To Say. I am as dedicated to teaching as I am to performance. Read More

Hello, my name is Briona. I'm a Vocalist with ten years of work experience onboard the top cruise lines as a Lead Vocalist. As a resident Vocalist onboard I had the opportunity to travel the world and experience cultural immersion from Europe, the Middle East, Australia, China, Japan, South America to the Antarctic circle. My 1st year in college I was the worst student in voice I was pitchy and had no access to my Soprano range and through excellent vocal coaches I was able to exit college with paid opportunities and was surprised to learn a lot of my pitch issues was because I was a mezzo soprano who had always been taught to sing like an alto.
