My teaching experience started in Graduate school, at Indiana University. I taught voice lessons to a violin major who was interested in taking voice lessons on the side. Since then, I've maintained a voice studio from my home and remotely, as I've traveled and moved around the country for singing work. My teaching style depends on my student. If I have kids taking lessons, I keep the lessons fun and exciting, and make sure to include musical games to play that will allow the student to develop good aural and vocal skills. When it comes to adult students, I try to figure out their most efficient way of learning (kinesthetic, analytical, etc.) and cater to that. It's important to know that each student progresses at their own pace, but as long as they are practicing and having fun, the rest will fall into place. Read More

My Teaching experience with playing the guitar is correlated to my experience as a Florida Teacher. I spent a lot of time using the guitar to build rapport and create positive teacher/student relationships that motivated students to achieve not only with the guitar but their academics as well. I have plenty of experience teaching students how to change chords, finger placement between frets, and surviving sore finger syndrome.
