I've worked with children in various settings including the YMCA, local Sports Teams, and youth programs at several churches. I've taught music for 6 years and have enjoyed it since. I have always believed that music is a conversation between the musician and the audience, and the instrument is the interpreter. With this in mind, with any age, I start with a regular conversation. Knowing the passion, interest level, and motivation of the students helps me create a method of teaching that is specific to the individual. I also learn their experience and knowledge level.
