Apart from only taeching, I also love to learn. I love to learn about what inspires people, about what motivates them and what they dream of becoming or acomplishing. No judgements, no rushing. Everybody learns at they're own speed. I set realistic goals and encourage students to find they're own style of expression. Learning music should always be fun. As a father of a 2 year old whom loves his guitar, I can teach from the youngest of students, to the more advanced ones. Read More

I first ask my students many questions about their relationship to music and where do they want music to take them. I tailor my lesson plan for each student by taking into careful consideration their musical background as well as their objectives. I customize a plan that is comfortable to their pace and helps them achieve their goals. By reaching small manageable short term goals my students gain skills and confidence. Read More

Most of my professional experience has been with the Marine Corps Music Program for 15 years. I also grew up with private piano lessons, and continued band and show choir throughout high school. Before my career with the Marine Corps Band, I also performed professionally around northern Ohio as a keyboardist and drummer in Top 40 and Rock bands for 3 years. I have a passion for composition and producing, and also enjoy finding innovative ways to encourage and challenge my music students. Read More

I started teaching guitar and bass in 2003 just a few years after the movie 'School of Rock' came out and I decided I wanted to do something different with my students -- I wanted to teach to them how to be in their own dedicated bands. I taught them to write their own songs and how to have stage presence while in group classes at the same as teaching each individual band member their specific instrument in private lessons before or after band class. My teaching style begins with my assessment of each student's abilities, physical, mental, and emotional. By this method I am able to design a realistic program for each student. Patience and encouragement go hand in hand, acknowledging their accomplishments all along the way. Once some fundamentals are established, I add pieces that the student has an interest in learning. In preparing for recitals I often accompany students which adds not only enjoyment for them but encouragement for them to overcome hesitancy to perform publicly. Read More

My methods as a teacher are very vast. I have taught many people and my success in teaching is unrivaled. I am able to make my students change direction, focus, get back on track, use a tangent to further a topic and much more. I think most music teachers focus on the music and not enough on their abilities to teach. I have been a preschool teacher and filled various other educational roles. Read More

My general approach to teaching is to mold my lesson plan around the students needs and wants, and it's extremely important that our lessons are fun for the student! This is especially true for children; if playing an instrument becomes "work"/"homework" they will probably lose interest pretty quickly. It's important to try to avoid that mindset, and keep it fun so that the student WANTS to pick up their instrument and play everyday. Read More
