Hello! Music is my life. I am constantly driven by music and I find inspiration in working with students to help them find their musical potential as well. Studying intensively at Mesa College was both rewarding as it was challenging, but working with my Berklee mentors was without question the moments that helped me as a musician, and I wish to share that with all aspiring students. I love working with my students. Its the best part of my job. I love seeing the natural progression of my students. I let students progress at a state that they are comfortable with. I push my students but I know where to draw the line. Asking a student to play a note then all of their scales is not what I do. I tailor every single lesson to every single one of my individual students. Read More

When my father saw my interest in the guitar, he put me in guitar classes because as he said, I had to "learn properly". Soon after my first lesson I realized I didn't learn very conventialy, l. I just wanted to learn the songs that I love. Flamenco Guitar and singing is an art for passed down from father to son/daughter. This is how I teach. I get to know the student's soul for music and I deliver to them the ability to instantly express themselves. Read More

For chords we will work through some books that I've had great past success with in my lessons. It's a great way to start off with just 2 or 3 chords, and slowly add more chords and strumming patterns as we progress through the book. As we learn more chords, we eventually start incorporating these chords into our songs as well. For advanced students I sometimes focus more heavily on one particular aspect of a students playing if they desire that (for example; if the student is already proficient in rhythm we may move directly to soloing and music theory). *I do not force my students to learn notation as I've found it can be very discouraging (especially for children), but I can incorporate this into the lesson if it's desired by the parent or student. Lessons need to be fun but at the same time the student needs to feel like they're making real progress. What I do is slow down whatever we're working on to a manageable pace for the student then slowly speed things up in a way that is comfortable for the student while at the same time providing new challenges and goals for the student to work toward. If the student is willing I also give the student the opportunity to perform live in front of their friends and family in real shows at real venues around town. Read More

Fun. Music is fun. Learning music should be fun. My style of teaching is to take what I find fun about playing music and introduce it to my students in gradual easy to understand steps. I do my best at teaching my students to read, write and create music. I also include many fun exercises to achieve finger dexterity. For my more advanced students I will take them to local open mic nights to help grow their confidence. Read More

My focus with each student is to tune into them in a way that I can then assess their physical, mental and emotional abilities. I ask each student what they want to learn with their instrument. If they do not know, we then start with the basics to establish a solid foundation in music with their instrument. Along the way, I ask the student what kind of music they like. Read More
