Some time in 2006 I was asked by the director to become his assistant and began taking on groups of my own. In 2007 I also joined ECMM as a sales associate and apprentice luthier in their shop, selling and working on guitars and other instruments. It was unfortunate that ECMM closed in 2009 after 33 years. Working at East Coast was a great experience for me and something I will always cherish. What I loved most about the ROA program was that as I transitioned from a student to a teacher, I adopted the same teaching style as my mentor: let the students choose what they want to learn and help them to learn and perfect it. I have recently relocated back to NYC and love it here. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia and a graduate of UGA. I have been fortunate enough to record on tons of records and tour the world many times over. My work has kept me super versatile as I have done everything from big band and small group jazz to rock and funk.
