The office was always dimly lit. Shelves of well read books and yellowed ripped sheet music lined the walls. The entire room had a smell of old paper, years of rosin buildup in the corners, and the smell of varnish from the short row of school instruments that students could borrow behind the tiniest teacher desk I had ever seen. My teaching style is engaging empathic and emphasis on repetition and finding strong points in students to keep them engaged while working on weaknesses. I encourage all students to work on memorizing repertoire, keeping correct posture, practicing a few times a week and performing for friends and family during the learning process. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music!
