I'm a passionate and professional cello instructor who loves working with students. I just moved to New York area due to my husband's job. I'm receiving my Doctoral of Musical Arts Degree from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in this coming May 2020. In 2017, I graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a Master's Degree in Music. I have taught at Heidelberg University for 4 years. My teaching experience dates back to when I was a senior in high school. I would teach local cellists ranging from Elementary School ages to College aged students. Outside of teaching cello, I spend my time as a Choir Director and a Religious Education Teacher. As for other music experience, I've participated in various orchestras, ranging from the New York University Philharmonia to the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra. I have been the principle cellist of my high school chamber orchestra, nominated for top ten in the country, for a few years. For beginner students I usually start with teaching the fundamentals of how to hold the cello and bow and how to make a sound, using Pizzicato and bow movement. I then introduce the Suzuki volume 1-4 books and make sure that the student learns a piece that will help him or her improve the most but at the same time will ensure an enjoyable and successful learning experience. For intermediate and advanced students I usually get familiarized with the student's skill level during the first lesson and build an individual curriculum for each student that will involve pieces the student loves and wants to play, pieces that will challenge the student, and pieces that will help the student reach his or her goals as a cellist and musician Read More

I enjoy watching my students grow and watching them develop their own interests and personal tastes. I open the door for my students with a strong technical instruction, and encourage them to walk through that "door" and develop their musical expression and curiosity. Through hard work, patience, and curiosity, we can form a connection that will help us both grow in innumerable ways.
