Regular practice is a good habit to learn early on and I ask all students to bring a notebook to lessons so progress can be recorded. What’s important is to strike a balance of activities that works for the student, engaging their desire to learn while giving them the structure necessary for success. For students who are already in an instrumental program through school, I will start with whatever method book they are using at school, and branch off from there. Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. The etudes may be classical in nature or more modern music. For older students, I will help them prepare Solo and Ensemble pieces as well. Read More

When i start a beginner student, i like to use either Essential Elements or Suzuki for violin and cello. For piano, i like to use the Faber method books. As the student progresses with either instrument, I try to encourage them to continue with scales and to move up in their playing abilities and music reading. Hello! I am an energetic and dedicated instructor that cares very much for my pupils. In 2016, I graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a Bachelors of Arts in Cello Performance. I then lived in France and worked as an English teacher in three elementary schools. From there I moved to Cardiff, United Kingdom where I completed my Masters degree in Music Cello Performance.
