I have been teaching music in many forms for the past 3 years. I am a Board-Certified Music Therapist and am excited to begin spending more time and energy as a cello teacher! I work with students of all ages and abilities and can offer adapted lessons to help meet every student's needs. I've previously taught private lessons privately and at School of Rock. I received my Master’s degree from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, studying with former LA Philharmonic Principal cellist Peter Stumpf, and my bachelor’s degree at Temple University, studying with cellist Jeffrey Solow. As a chamber musician, I have studied with Menahem Pressler, Mark Kaplan, Jorja Fleezanis, and Kurt Muroki. For my string students learning violin, viola or cello I typically use the Suzuki method books. There are times that I might recommend the Essential Elements series for those who are just starting off, but at some point I switch the student over to Suzuki. Another supplemental book I encourage my students to get when they get to a certain level is Essentials for Strings.
