For beginning string student's, I use Essential Elements for Strings and Schroeder method books. Once the student has grasped the basic fundamentals and note reading, I begin to introduce solo repertoire from the Suzuki String method. Along with technical studies and solo repertoire, the student will learn scales ranging from one to four octaves. For beginning piano student's, I use the Bastein Piano series. I have taught cello consistently since 2014. I received pedagogical training from my cello teacher Regina Mushabac in 2014. This included taking on several students, some of whom stayed on with me until I left Ohio for California. While these students all came to me at various skill levels, I made sure to revisit with them the fundamentals of technique, posture, and basic knowledge of the instrument, including eliminating tension. Every student is different and learns in different manners, which makes teaching a challenge. This is a challenge that motivates and excites me. I make sure to put all my effort into adapting to every student. Overall, I set reasonable goals for each student that are challenging, yet attainable.
