I have been teaching for over 10 years. I have experience teaching students of all levels and ages. I have taught for a number of institutions in the New York City metro-area, including The Harmony Program, Tone Academy of Music, Hunter Elementary Music School, MusicWise, Silver Music School, Brooklyn Conservatory and I currently hold a private studio at my home and travel to my students homes. I am a former Suzuki student--I began at age 3.5 with my mom as my teacher--so I believe that Suzuki is an incredible method for teaching young string players. The aural memory I attained by learning this way still continues to benefit me in my career each and every day! For beginning students, I typically start with the Suzuki Method while combining it with the Essential Elements Method. As the student learns the fundamentals I gradually add scales and exercises to further develop the student's technique. After further progress, I begin to introduce solo repertoire and add other pieces. I'm fairly flexible on what pieces the student may play in the lessons, as long as the rudiments and classic repertoire are covered. Read More
