. At my students' first lessons, I get an idea of their unique skill sets. Even with my beginners, I can tell what musical abilities they may naturally have. From there, I talk to the student about their goals for cello playing. Some may want strictly classical music training and others may want to expand into current popluar music or jazz. I am Andrea M., cellist with more than 20 years of experience. My cello professor came from the big schools from the United States, like Julliard School of Music and Yale University. I played in a lot of Orchestras in South America for 15 years. Now Im doing a Artist Diploma in Duquesne University and also playing in some Orchestras around Pittsburgh. I started on violin in 4th grade and switched to viola in 6th grade.  I was involved in private lessons, youth orchestras, competitions, City, District, Regional and All State orchestras while I was growing up.  In 1991 I graduated from the State University of New York with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Music.  From there I attended Carnegie Mellon University and received my Music Education Certification in 1995.  I received my Masters in Music in 2000 from the University of Denver.
