My methods vary depending on student age, ability and goals with the instrument. I believe no everybody learn the same way so I adapt to find the best, most efficient and fun path to teach my students. For Children I like to emphasize the importance of the fundamentals and technique through fun exercises and simple tunes they can play along to. As the student progreses and grows more interest in the instrument, which I guarantee they will, classes will start to get more challenging. Read More

Previously mentioned, depending on the individual student, my methods and concepts will change. In teaching i have found there is NOT a "perfect way to teach" or "right way". People are different and everyone learns differently and at different paces, so the style of teaching has to change from student to student. However, the biggest principal i have seen in teaching lessons, is if the teacher believes in the student, and the student knows it, results will sky rocket and the student will do anything for that teacher. Hi! I'm a drummer and composer from the south of France, I've been teaching drums from more than 10 years and I love it! I graduated from two different schools, one in France focusing on what we call "amplified music" which are all the modern style of music: Rock, Pop, Soul, Funk, Metal, Reggae etc... and the other school in Spain focusing on Jazz drumming performance. Up until I moved to New York I was a touring drummer as a sideman and as a leader all over Europe (France, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands for most part). Read More

As someone with diverse training with multiple instruments and styles, I am very determined to teaching my students and having them become the best they can be at their instrument. I am firm, but patient and understand that practicing the right way is more important than practicing frequently. I am able to work as slow or fast as a student needs; it all depends on their comfortable pace. When my students accomplish their goals, whether it be learning a piece, perfecting a new technique, or gaining experience performing live, it will be incredibly rewarding for both of us. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students develop their own style in music and art. This progress happens at his or her own pace. Therefore, it is important that I set realistic goals per student. This leads to a positive teaching and learning environment. I truly believe that art, in this case music, is connected with life and therefore life is connected with art; What I am trying to say is that no matter what the level of the student is, when you teach and learn the right way, it goes way beyond music itself. For beginners I usually begin with Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone and Fundamental Studies for Snare Drum by Garwood Whaley. Once the student has a good grasp on basic reading and technique, I usually introduce rudiments and start working on solo or play along repertoire. I also like to use The Drum Set Musician by Rod Morgenstein. Besides book work I also like to bring in things that I am working on either with bands I play with or personal projects. Read More

The one book I use for my students is Ted Reed's "Progressive Steps to Syncopation For The Modern Drummer". I use this book for my own benefit on a daily basis. Its interpretation and application is limited only by the student's or instructor's imagination. This book is such a great resource for assisting the student in learning basic reading skills. Once the student becomes familiar with recognizing certain rhythmic sequences, It enables them to study and learn from other publications with an increased level of facility. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
