I am a percussionist , drummer and beginning piano instruction. I have a music degree as well a master's degree in education. I have been teaching for the past 20 years with both school age student's as well as adults in individual and group settings. Did projects such as Music to My Ears project which won an international award. For older and experienced students, I look to work on a wide range of styles to help the student understand the nuances of performance techniques and promote an understanding of how interconnected various performance styles are. I have been teaching drums and percussion privately for over 20 years. I focus on the interests of his students and teach in different musical styles such as classical, jazz, rock and metal. I can prepare someone for school band, or take an advanced student to another level preparing for a career in the music business. Other than snare and drum-set I can teach Latin and African instruments, marimba, bells and various other percussion instruments.My lessons will range from learning fundamentals such as sticking techniques and rudiments, to advanced techniques such as single and double bass drumming, odd-time, and grove passed patterns. I have taught drum instruction and Jazz ensemble at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music for 20 years. In addition I developed and implemented elementary music programs for K-5 thru 4th grade for schools in the NY vicinity. Upon moving to the Milwaukee area I have taught private and group instruction for the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Elementary Music K-5 thru 8th grade at St. Josaphat's school, Music Therapy and intergenerational activities at the Lutheran Home, private studio and now Musika.
