I am currently a Senior Music Education Major at Eastern Michigan University. I am a saxophonist in the EMU Wind Symphony, EMU Big Band, EMU Saxophone Ensemble, EMU Jazz Saxophone Sextet, Stone Tower Saxophone Quartet, Krangerson Duo, REMIX, and Funkwagon. I have also marched Quads for Impact Percussion, and the EMU Drumline. I also play drumset in several jazz combos. I have various teaching styles that I adapt based on the individual I am teaching. Some people learn best through visual and auditory methods, while others require written instructions. I am comfortable teaching in both styles, but I have noticed that most individuals learn best through hands-on experience. Nonetheless, I can adjust my teaching approach to accommodate anyone who wants to learn how to play the drums. My experience is derived from my work as an instructor at an Ann Arbor music school. I have taught a wide range of ages, and enjoy every age I teach for different reasons. I believe everyone has something new to offer. I have played in punk, rock, and ska bands, as well as playing with certain groups at the music school.
