As they progress, I begin to implement certain books that Ive used in my career. There are three books I use religiously, Stick Control Ted Reeds syncopation book and N.A.R.D snare drum studies. I have enjoyed a freelance career as a music teacher, composer. performer, recording engineer. producer, and a multi instrumentalist. I attended a few lessons, but grew disheartened as I didn't grasp some of the fundamentals of playing. Even if the student has played percussion for years, I still want them to understand the fundementals for the instrument. As soon as the student is finished with rudiments, I want them to look at the different etudes in a percussion book that I will work off of for each meeting.
