Music is my passion and I love sharing it with others. I've been an instructor for drums and percussion for over twenty years. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, I moved to L.A. where I continued my studies alongside ultra professional drummers Dave Weckl Chad Wackerman. While living in California I was able to gain invaluable experience performing on stage and recording in major studios. After moving back to the east coast I remain active in the music scene local to Baltimore, Maryland as well as playing nationally with groups ranging from Nashville, California and New York. I always enjoy sharing my approach to drumming with other drummers. Two years ago I hired a private instructor to coach me in the fine points of teaching. I then started teaching and love every minute of it. I am expanding my client scheduling from 5 per week to 20 per week. I have always aspired to be a versatile drummer. Growing up I idolized drummers like Steve Gadd, Steve Jordan, Dennis Chambers, and many of the jazz and latin greats. I learned how to play many styles of music along the way including: jazz, soul, funk, rock, pop, blues, salsa, samba, candombe, afro-beat, reggae, symphonic percussion, and the avante garde. I introduce the student to simple and relevant information in a step by step way to ensure a comfortable learning environment that gives the student their own motivation to progress and get better.
