When the student has developed a grasp of the fundamentals I will begin to introduce solo repertoire that will build upon that fundamental knowledge and engage them in the joy of performance. For adults, I engage the students interest in music and find repertoire and exercises that reflect their goals and desires. He was also a singer, dancer, and percussionist for Beat (La fiesta mondiale de percussion) which toured in casinos and venues across North America. He has also recorded and performed drums with many well-known artists in Canada. Among others, Matt was a member of the popular Montreal band Redcore (drums, composer, and vocals) and played drums with the up-and-coming Los Angeles-based bands U.G.L.Y (Chris Brown Entertainment), Standing Shadows, Erick Morillo, and CB7 (drums and back vocals) who just came back from opening for 30 Seconds To Mars on their US tour. Hi! I moved to Los Angeles from Australia this year to further explore my love of music, performing, teaching and law! I have played the drums for 25 years and have been teaching for 15 (as an instrumental teacher and a classroom music teacher). In Australia I completed Bachelor of Laws, Graduate Diploma in Education and Bachelor of Music (Majoring in Jazz Drums) degrees. I am currently enrolled at the USC Gould School of Law, where I am completing a Master of Laws with a certificate in Entertainment Law.I have performed in a variety of bands ranging from rock, funk, jazz, latin and was also in a drum corps for 4 years. I am a professional drummer originally from the San Francisco East Bay area. I started percussion instruction in elementary school at age 9, proceeding through high schools playing in the concert, symphonic, jazz, and marching bands. At 19 I joined the US Army, where I honorably served my enlistment, and continued to play professional gigs around central Texas. In 2003 I moved to Los Angeles to study at the M.I.
