My teaching experience began in 2001, during an after school program. I facilitated a drum circle and taught lessons to kids from ages 8 to 15 years old. This lead to several parents of the students requesting private drum lessons. I have been teaching privately in student's homes over the last 15 years.  I find that defining the student’s goals, and centering the lesson around those goals keeps the individual inspired to progress forward. I also like to work on the foundations of syncopation and fundamental interdependence. The final method to start is a book in rock drumming that will serve as a good Segway to other forms of music, whether it be gospel, funk, or jazz. I like to expose students to a variety of styles, but also like to incorporate their interests into the lesson. I have taught guitar since I was 16 years old. I have taught private lessons and have also directed music ensembles such as a rock band summer camp. I teach students of all ages and all skill levels. I have taught everything from rock, blues, pop, classical, to jazz and beyond. I have performed, written, and recorded with artists and producers from Philadelphia, PA to Los Angeles, CA. I've been teaching for over 10 years now and I truly enjoy helping my students get more out of themselves. I started on classical piano at a young age, then played a whole lot of guitar focusing on the likes of Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and more, before joining marching band and jazz band diving deep into drums. In College I started playing bass in bands in Manhattan, and I believe it's this transitions of hopping to many different instruments, starting on the piano, that makes it easy for me to relay the main musical concepts to my students that overlap through all of these instruments.
