I also like to prepare the student to play any genre of music by sheet music or by ear as well. We identify key elements and styles within that genre of music that their interest in. Then I construct a specific lesson plan geared towards that particular style. I always enjoy seeing the light bulb moment my students get when they get something right, and learn something new. My teaching method is a simple stacking method we start with a lesson, I try to find where the student may struggle most and spend time with that. Then we move forward, but revisit the lesson prior for continuity. Lip slurs, scales and fundamentals for the brass players and rudiments, speed and handing techniques for all percussionists the practice and teaching regiment is simple yet effective. Read More
